history

xam is the new brand of the historical company Classicmobil in 1964 the brothers Ascanio and Andrea Bernardelli open the workshop Classicmobil, for the production of brass beds and furnishings for the Italian market; in the 70's, the transformation of a real and proper industry, requires the realisation of a new productive pole in 1971

the contestant style research and the cooperation with important a architects of this sector, as Architect Meringhi and Architect Ferrero and an internationalisation through the annual participation for over 30 years of important exhibitions, such as the Salone del Mobile fair in Milan, High Point USA and Imm fair in Cologne, builds and establishes the reputation of Classmobil as a high quality company on a worldwide level.

the arrival in the company of the new generation with Marco and Anna, signs in 2007 a turn to contemporary design; xam, starts when Anna decided to create her "ideal bed" non finding it in the vast contemporary production; through her deep knowledge in the metal field and experience matured in the structural projects of beds, she created "hers"...which soon became to be the first item of the xam collection, with the name "one" and with this the birth of xam; starting with a collection where the bed is contemporary and up-to-date over the years the collection has expanded, affecting the whole field of the interior design.

xam today uses all the know how that in 40 years the leading company Classicmobil has achieved across the use of top quality materials, high qualified finishing and fittings with the aim to reach the excellence of the production of the product, just as once was required for the preciousness of brass.

xam's market reference is a medium-high trade level, for which the object does not have the only and reductive function to furnish, but most of all, to reflex its identity, its way of being and to contemplate and to exalt the architectural space: it's required to have a soul; the creations that are proposed, are not wanted to be tied to fashion, the temporary styles are rarely visible; for this reason the designers who cooperate with the company, are chosen with extreme cure, according to the deep affinity with xam's formal language every reflexion and creative passage, are achieved within its own designer section

xam's products are distributed in Italy and main European countries, from Germany to the Scandinavian countries, from Austria to Switzerland and in the USA; l'export, represents 60% of the companies turnover

philosophy

xam distinguishes itself in the design area for the use and research on an essential language that is expressed through the sober and strict lines

a design full of warm essentials emerges for the use of unusual materials, precision in every single detail and a sophisticated chromatic research in the creations that are carried out

all xam products, tables and office tables, chairs and armchairs, modular units, cupboards and bookcases, beds, bed armchair, sofa, pouf and carpets, arise from a simplifying process, that is accomplished through the purity of the proposed forms; the research of the materials that seem to have a soul, characterises every piece, making it become an integral part of the architecture of the environment

furnishing items with variations of volume, colour and shape, give life to unlimited compositions, from the use of a hanging elements such as the modular units of the vertical and horizontal system, or of a cupboard placed on a wall or in the middle of a room, as every element of the xam collection has the particularity to be lived and perceived in its wholeness

the formal language researched in the creation of the product and of the design, puts a high and particular attention to the high quality of each and every element made, as it must grow old, maintaining it's value over time

STEFANIA PELLEGRINELLI

Stefania Pellegrinelli (1968) architect and designer, graduates in architecture in 1997 at the politecnico in Milan and at the domus academy in 1999

in 2002 opens her own professional studio in Stezzano, Bergamo

the constant research of a pure and minimal formal language, through the creation of architectural spaces with delicate contrasts distinguishes her work in the interior design, contact, spa and wellness field

in 2014 the cooperation with xam, leads to the creation of pure|collection, a collection of sophisticated storing volumes, with pure and essential geometric lines, covered by sought-out uncommon materials, interior design elements placed against a side, in the middle of an open area or hung on a wall, a perfect complement to architectural scenarios that differ for contents and functions

established in 1989 by arch. Marcella Spinelli and arch. Marcello Oggioni, over the years the studio has cooperated with many companies mainly in the wooden furniture sector

the studio’s main activity is the design of designer products, but has always worked as art director supporting companies in their stylistic choices; in some cases the studio has remained along their side achieving a real and proper synergy _ _ xam, axil , fast, swan, rognoni, pacini e cappellini, dreams , open, spima, mos, cover, frascio, mimo, brianform

stylist in textile companies such as aurim, home decor, nice, monti e monti in 2007 the studio enters in the RCS family cooperating with brava casa’s director and stylists
